Finding the right waxing salon can be very intimidating. We all want to feel safe and well taken care of in a clean environment by a well educated waxologist. Here are a few suggestions to try when looking for a great waxing salon.
Reviews
Yes, this is a great place to start. Online reviews help you to glean what other’s experiences have been. If the waxing salon has a bad review, don’t immediately run in the other direction. See how the business has responded to the review. This might provide insight into how they handle serious issues and if they are quick to make adjustments if there is really something worth addressing.
Ask A Friend
Sometimes the best way to find a place is to go where others are going, especially if it is a place that has a friend's stamp of approval. The best thing about asking a friend, is they are more likely to tell you all the details (the good, the bad, and the fugly), so that you can make the best decision for you.
Look at the website
Oftentimes, the website is the first impression that we are able to make with a company. How they present themselves digitally, both on their website and on social media, helps us to understand who they are and what they value. Find a salon that values you as a customer and wants you to understand who they are as a company as well.
Make sure they are licensed
It is important that the person performing your waxing services be licensed. When the individual has an esthetics or cosmetology license, this means they have been educated on how to safely provide waxing services and also how to prevent the spread of disease. These are the only licenses legally able to provide waxing services in the state of Georgia.
Is the business clean
This is the most important thing to evaluate. Is the business practicing cleanliness during and after your service? This will limit the spread of disease and contaminants. Things to look for: your waxologist should never double dip the waxing stick into the main pot of wax, the waxing area should be disinfected after each guest, the waxologist should wear gloves during your service, and any tools used during the service should be disinfected if it is not disposable. Sometimes, just the interior can provide insight into if they practice proper standards for cleanliness.
If you have found a waxing salon that meets all of the standards, the last thing will be a total vibe thing. Many times, we frequent the businesses that give us the right kind of energy and make us feel great. If you haven't tried Smooth Body Wax Center, come on in and tell us what you think. We love customer feedback and reviews!
